Foxtail Farms is a full care facility concentrating on natural horse care but recognizes horses are creatures of comfort as well.Proprietors MaryAnne and Nancy have a combined total of over fifty years of experience. We feed a nutritionally balanced feed, supplement as necessary or as provided by horse owner with access to hay and water at all times. Horses cannot perform at their best if they are not properly fed and cared for.
Our main focus for lessons are safety, developing a mutual respect with horse and human and enjoying the journey.
Do you want to learn how to ride safely? Do you want to create a partnership with your horse? By combining these two ingredients you can, create a partnership with endless possibilities. Ask yourself these two questions to see if our lesson program is right for you. Do you want to be safe and have fun with your horse. Do you want to realize the dream of having you and your horse work as one? Our lesson program also incorporates horse care, horsemanship, and stable management. We we work with our students to compliment their goals, and personality, to produce balanced horsemen.
Nancy & MaryAnne have ridden with the best Horseman around. We've ridden in clinics with Buck Brannaman, Greg Eliel, Joe Wolters, and Stacy Westfall. We transported our horses to Texas to spend a month with Martin Black. This has given us a sound foundation for dealing with horses on the ground, and and in the saddle. This makes for safe decisions, which have become second nature benefiting both horse and human.
We have also been blessed with horses who are and were incredible teachers. These horses have taught us how to listen, feel, and to respond accordingly to what the horse needs. We also observe the horse human relationship, and recognize how the human response directly effects how the horse responds. With this in mind, we can effectively teach the correct human response, so that the humans actions, are in alignment with their intent. The horse can now understand what is expected of him. Horses think concretely and the humans must act the same way. Horses think in black and white with no shades of gray.
We strive to continually educate ourselves to become the best equestrians we can be. We have attended clinics with Instructors of the School of Legerete to refine our lightness and feel. We also had a private clinic with a Clinton Anderson Certified Instructor to re-enforce our groundwork skills.
Our Cover-All Indoor riding arena allows for riding year round. The building’s natural light and airiness promotes happy horses as it simulates outdoor riding without the hindrance of whatever Mother Nature might throw.
We have trails right off the property, and a large grass arena. We also have a large truck and trailer for all your trailering needs.
